| Wall-hanging Kits
Each wall hanging is made using the techniques of applique and
quilting. Hand dyed silk satin is used for the applique shapes and
each shape is attached with iron on 'wonder web'. The web makes
it easy to cut intricate shapes with clean lines and no frayed edges.
The wall hanging can be decorated afterwards using beads, Indian
shisha mirrors and freestyle embroidery.
Applique allows a design to be built quickly and easily, and the
quilted base gives a firm surface on which to add embroidery. The
embroidery embellishment is my favourite part. Once you have a strong
design on the completed quilt you can stitch in a free way on the
machine with gold, silver, copper and turquoise metallic threads
or a selection of shimmering rayons.  The silk

The three colour base is put together using the iron on adhesive
and decorated with stitching afterwards. A comprehensive tutorial
booklet is included for those not familiar with this easy technique.
Embellish your work with beads, Indian shisha mirrors and freestyle
embroidery and create your own truly exquisite masterpiece! Embroidery Twisted chain, French knots, cross-stitch, needle lace and blanket
stitch are some of the stitches to add, they can be found in the
tutorial booklet. Work lightly, slowly building up layers of texture
and interest using a variety of magpie-like bits and pieces tiny
embroidery beads, copper
foil, shisha mirrors and hand-made papers can all be stitched to
the work. These are fun to add and can make the quilt look quite
exquisite.
