Tiny Picture Projects Each picture is made using the technique of applique quilting with
the option to add embroidery embellishment. Hand dyed silk satin
is used for the applique shapes and each shape is attached with
iron on 'wonder web'. The web makes it easy to cut intricate shapes
with clean lines and no frayed edges. The picture can be decorated
afterwards using beads, Indian shisha mirrors and freestyle embroidery. Each project is beautifully presented and includes beads, hand
dyed & gold threads and a tutorial booklet.
Flowers
This is the most basic project which will introduce the absolute
beginner to this easy silk appliqué technique. Try using a
different hand embroidery stitch on each petal or machine around
a gentle curve. Add beads or french knots to create the flower centre.
Bug Pictures The bugs give you the opportunity to try embellishing the silk
appliqué on a small scale using harmonising metallic threads,
multi-coloured threads & beads. Use hand or machine stitching. |
